Detroit Trade Shows

Detroit trade shows are mainly held at the COBO Conference/Exhibition Center. Michigan's World Class meeting and convention facility.

The 2.4 million square foot center on the bank of the Detroit River, is the centerpiece of downtown Detroit's Civic Center.

COBO Center offers elegant banquet rooms and over 80 meeting rooms totaling 178,446 square feet equiped to accommodate capacities from 30 to 10,000.

COBO Center also boasts one of the largest contiguous exhibit floor space in North America and two adjacent arenas (COBO Arena and Joe Louis Arena).

COBO is physically linked to all downtown Detroit hotels and entertainment districts by the Detroit People Mover, the only elevated railway system of its kind in the United States.

COBO Center has a proven track record of handling international events like the following Detroit trade shows: International G-7 Job Summit, the annual North American International Auto Show, the annual Society of Automotive Engineers International Congress, and frequent national eventslike visits by the President, the Vice President and foreign heads of state.

The COBO Conference/Exhibition Center works with City of Detroit departments such as Transportation, Parking, Police, Airport, County, State and Federal agencies, Detroit's corporate community, and the Detroit Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau to ensure the success of events at our facility.

Trade Show Marketing Tip

From here on in you are reading an excerpt from The World's Most Powerful Trade Show Marketing Guide.

Plan Your Year's Announcements

One of the best reasons to attend a trade show is to make a product announcement.

You have customers there. You have prospects there. You have strangers (who may be qualified prospects there). Your business partners and key suppliers may be there. You have media and analysts there. (This is BIG)

And, if you are good you have your competitors there (and they are unprepared for your announcement!)

So shows are great places to make a product announcement or upgrade. Every year at the CES Bill Gates make big announcements and has the whole world focused on it.

Don't you think that his organization is working from the show date backward in their planning?

If you plan to attend multiple shows make sure you make a list of planned company milestones and announcements such as product launch, merger/acquisition, market research, pricing action and partner announcements.
